Strong performance in Hongkong26.11.2009A strong performance by Peter in the Super Series tournament Hongkong Open. He could reach the finals in the famous Queen Elisabeth stadium playing current World number one Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia. The Malaysian however, was made to sweat for 58 minutes before defeating Peter in three sets of 21-13, 13-21, 21-16.
Chong Wei displayed his mastery when he won the first set 21-13 before Peter used his excellent strokes to clinch the second set with a similar scoreline and forcing the decider. But Chong Wei succeeded in overcoming the former world number one and the championship's third seed when he won 21-16 in the decider.
In the earlier rounds Peter was able to beat his compatriot Jan Ø Jørgensen and the top players Kenichi Tago of Japan and Indonesias Simon Santoso in straight games. The next tournaments for Peter will be the BWF Super Series Masters in Malaysia and the traditional Copenhagen Masters.
